We're all familiar with the W&B envelope chart for a typical PA-28, which looks something like this:
But the envelope graph out of the POH for a 1980 Dakota looks like this:
Why the goofy skewed X axis - compressed at the bottom, fanning out at the top? Seems like if you just graphed the same data on a normal scale it would look something like:
And would give you exactly the same answers, and make a lot more sense.
What am I missing here?
