Weight and Balance

I have a 1967 Cherokee 180. Since I’m still a student pilot I fly with my CFI. When I do I have to add weight in the luggage area to be inside the envelope, particularly with full fuel tanks.
What do y’all use to add weight to the luggage area and what do you do to “strap” in down?
