Just purchased a new to me Cherokee. Old Mark 12 radio in it. As the ad says, I'm looking for a slide in replacement .

I have a Mk12D, working when removed. If that works, PM me

If you have a 12D, TKM makes a sweet slide in retrofit unit. Brings you up to a modern piece of gear with a 5 min plus log book entry swap. That's the route I'd go if you are planning on keeping the stack. If you plan on any upgrades in the next few years, find a working unit and save up for the new stack.

Unfortunately the TKM does not replace a 12D. It replaces a 12, 12A, 12B, or 12DR.

Thanks! I was looking at the MX12. Never caught that when looking before. You'd think they'd have a note on the MX12 for 12D see MX300

Look at the manual for the MX300, does not replace the MK12D. I believe they have a typo that should not read MK12D for the MX300 unit. Big difference in the radios. The MX12 will replace the MK12DR. No one makes a slide in for the Narco MK12D. I own a MK12D and I am keeping my eye open for someone to do that.

FWIW, Capital City Avionics in Harrisburg PA works on the Narco radios and has parts. I believe they are even replacing displays. They worked on mine earlier this year, after I was referred to them from another local shop who didn't have a source for parts.
