Attention Electrical Guru's:

Voltage regulators (electronic). The regulator is regulating field voltage to control the alternators output obviously. Is the regulator just maintaining buss voltage +/- to do its job or are there specific voltages applied to the field to regulate output? Does a specific voltage excite the stator to maintain the voltage (current) output. Just trying to understand the details of the operation better. Seems like a pretty straight forward system (see attachment).

A fellow member is stuck in Arizona where a mechanic is doing a parts changing thing because he doesn't understand an electrical system. (Turbo Arrow IV) So sad many professionals haven't learned to diagnosis electrical properly, or at all.
