Just took my 77 Archer out for first test flight with factory rebuilt engine. A couple of minor adjustments to be made, but I am concerned that the cowling is touching the front right (from the passenger view) rocker cover. The factory Lycoming green has chafed off about 1/4 inch square. The plane has been down for 5 months without either cowling attached. Has anyone had this happen? Could the cowling have become misshapen? Or maybe the mounts are off?
