ok y’all here’s the scoop. Started my plane ownership career with a Cherokee 18o. I owned it two years and loved its low costs for maintenance and it’s simplicity in ownership and operation. But after two years, I was ready for something else. I had always loved the Mooney’s - so I bought a C model Mooney with a 180Hp carb engine. I still have it/ while it’s got decent speed, low costs in maintenance and operation for a complex, it no longer fits my mission.

We have a little get away place in Durango CO (KDRO). We are out of Fort Worth TX (T67). I would like a plane that will somewhat easily get to an altitude where I can make the trip straight without going around any mountains (14k would more than do it), and one that will get me there non stop if possible. My budget is 65k MAX.
Would a commanche 250 be a good fit? I’ve got a couple I have my eye on. I don’t want to drastically increase my maintenance costs nor operation costs. I’m a working man, not a rich man. Lol

Thanks!
