Trim molding for door

Vinyl trim upholstery molding that goes around Piper cockpit door. One for sale. We installed one on our Archer to replace crumbling trim piece. It was easy and looks great.

Isn't that just a wind lace you could get from car upholstery for $3 per foot? I know fire cert and piper labor cost for 90% of price there.
