Finally got the Cessna 150 started. It had over 10 gallons of water in the tanks, fuel system, carberator, etc. Had to put a different carb on it to ferry. The carb had pits in the bowl from sitting water. It had not flown in 14 months but it ferried nicely. The engine is in unbelievable good shape (no compression reading under 68), but it has other air worthyness issues (the main struts for the landing gear are badly corroded where the steps were). And a few other AW problems including no working radio.

Anyone have some main gear springs or flaps?

The last mechanic that worked on it (1977) removed the flaps to clean up corrosion and put them back on backwards (left and right were switched). THe flaps don't go down all the way and when they do go down, they push against the upper side wing skin. Seems like a dumb mistake to me (for an A&P). Its something I might have done, but I"m no A&P.

If no one here has any parts, I'm going to try Wentworths. I've got a carb. coming already - should be here tomorrow (Wednesday 4-28-10).
