Wondering if I can simply start a discussion regarding overhaul of the TIO-540. This specifically is regarding the widely variable cost quotes I am receiving. My current engine has 2300 hours, is original (1999) and runs well. I have read and understand Mike Bush's articles regarding overhauls but don't want to discuss that, more would like to discuss member's thoughts on these shops and what to look out for as this is my first overhaul I will be going through.
All these quotes were within the last 3 weeks but at least 2 weeks ago, I never heard back from Powermaster, Central Cylinder Service, Pinnacle, JB Aircraft said unable to quote d/t parts availability, Zephyr, Firewall Forward, and just heard back from LyCon yesterday but did not yet receive quote.
