Just wondering if anyone else feels like the summertime thunderstorms seem to be more prevalent in recent years. Maybe because we moved south but there seems to be thunderstorms almost everyday. Even coming back from Oshkosh this year, had to climb to 10,000 feet to get over a line of developing thunderstorms near Chicago and if we had been 30 mins later, they would have built up so we would not have been able to get over them and would have had to land. Then when we got over the mountains near Asheville, NC there were Thunderstorms parked over our home airport in Columbia SC just before sunset so we had to divert to our alternate in Greenville SC to spend the night. Next morning finished with a 40 min flight home. I guess the fact that we made it from Oshkosh to just 40 mins from home in SC before we were stopped due to weather is a good thing but it just seems thunderstorms are more of a presence in the last number of years.
