I trust the math here. But I don't trust the indicated airspeed. My ground speed is as much as 10 knots slower than what my TAS comes out to. I've tested at this altitude in the past and averaged about 159 knots using the 4-directions method of GPS on a low wind day. I also used the TAS calculator in my G430. The numbers don't add up.

I'm looking for some help here on how TAS is calculated correctly. Has anyone else seen this much of a variance?

Also, does anyone know what is the allowed tolerance before the airspeed indicator needs to be calibrated or replaced? Seems to be reading 6% high currently.
