Aviation fuel has a big problem besides the lead and that is the cost. Developing a new product is necessarily expensive and with the rising of Aviation Fuel the competitive nature will produce an alternative. But it will not be purchased unless it is competitive with current price or the Govt just says - no fuel with lead.
Trouble is the cost will keep some folks from flying as much. It may solve one problem but I think it will create another one.
