Learned a lesson today, Went on a cross country and came back late evening as the sun was setting, our heading was due west and I was traversing over and around some large mountains. I forgot my sunglasses though I usually never wear them anyway. Wow, the sun was bright luckily it eventually went behind the clouds and stayed there for a majority of the trip but when I did pop out, I coldnt see a thing, My window seems to be in pretty bad shape too now that I have seen through it with the sun shining. New pre-flight checklist, sun glasses. If not for the luck of having that cloud up there, I probably would have diverted to the east.
