The POH says to hold the plane at the end of the runway with the brake, go to full throttle, and then release brake with first notch of flaps. Will that really result in a shorter takeoff than applying full throttle while rolling? Seems that rolling would be shorter since you do not have to overcome inertia. Runway will be 2000 feet turf, 500 feet elevation, with no immediate obstacles.
