Some of you may have seen my other thread which has brought me to this point. https://www.piperforum.com/threads/calling-all-electrical-starter-system-gurus.20542/

I thought I'd post some pics of the installation of my new, and very pretty, Sky-Tec starter.

Step one: verify it is in fact a 122 tooth ring gear. Parts book for an E2D shows a 149 as applicable, and the starter that I removed was an MZ4206, which is supposed to be for a 149 tooth gear. Some hangar elves must have swapped out the bendix at some point in the distant past.

Step two: Inspect and clean the mounting area.

Step three: Trial fit the new starter. If there's any problem, now is the time to find it. There wasn't.... it fit like a glove.
