Question for Aspen Owners

I’m looking at avionics to update the panel on my 140. I’d like to use an Aspen for my PFD. I’ve been looking on E-bay at used units but don’t know enough to know the difference between the models.

If I bought new I would get an E5, but the ones on E-bay are all EFD 1000. What the difference between that and the E5 in practical terms? I’ve looked on the Aspen site but haven’t been able to make enough sense to tell the difference. Thanks
