My Aztec has been in my mechanic’s hangar for over a year while I’ve been working in Europe. I wanted to protect the camshaft from corrosion so I’ve been paying them to ground run the engines monthly (yes I understand the argument about running vs pickling but this is a different question).

Today I arrived to pick up the Axtec with a fresh annual only to find some sizable nicks/damage in the leading edges. I assume the ground runs picked up rocks and damaged the props.

One nick is large enough that it looks to me to be too large to “dress out”.

Where do I find the criteria for my three bladed Hartzell HC-E3YR-2ATF / FC7663-2R propeller blades to know how much material can be filed off?

Thanks.
