With my financial situation planned out as it is, I am thinking of one significant upgrade to my 140 in the spring. I'm thinking either a really nice engine monitor - fuel flow/4 probes/digital tach/etc OR dual G5's along with removing the old Piper plastic panel overlay and having a more modern metal overlay done (this would all be done as one project) OR installing a TruTrack autopilot.

I estimate having about 6-8k to spend, depending on how the annual goes. A bad annual, it'll be on the lower end, a good annual, it'll be on the higher end of that.

I've got several months to mull it over. Which do you think would be the most significant single upgrade?

My instinct says the engine monitor because it will likely translate into $$ savings with the added visibility into leaning and fuel flow. The G5's would be really cool, but wouldn't really give me anything I don't already have other than that snazz factor. The autopilot would be cool too, but this isn't a cross country machine. More upgrades will come in time, but I'm only focused on the one right now.

Thoughts?
