My '72 Cherokee doesn't have any fault indicator lights for equipment. I could install a $7K monitor but that is just way overkill for my plane. The lower cost monitors don't seem to have auxiliary features like that.
I once had my alternator fail and had no awareness of it until my ground check when I went to take off on my next fight. I had no idea of when it failed and it was a bit disconcerting since my previous flight was IFR. The battery was fully charged so if it was out it wasn't out long. Later Pipers had some kind of line of sight panel and I have a space for that but it's empty.
Has anyone done any kind of adaptation for an alternator light and maybe a suction light or others?
