A PA32 went down this morning in my home town of Brentwood, TN. 1 soul on board, 1 fatality. Looking at ADSB data, he was at 5500ft, appears he started having engine trouble 17 minutes into the flight. Turned towards KBNA but never made it. I am in no way saying what “he should have done” but it’s so sad because I-65 was directly under him before the turn to BNA and there were a couple of private air strips just south. Easy to say this afterwards, I know.

We have to constantly be prepared of “what would I do if my engine failed”. What started out as a calm, clear day perfect for flying ending tragically. Prayers for the family. Be safe out there.
