Group,
I have new (to me) 1981 PA31 short body panther conversion. Everything was perfectly adjusted when I picked it up in early September. I've flown it about 70 hours since then. Suddenly, both prop governors seem to be misbehaving. First, both levers need to be pulled back on takeoff to stay below red line. Second, the left prop seems to require more power to spin at 1700 during runup. I say that because both the manifold pressure and fuel flow are higher on the left side to achieve the same rpm. The recommendation I'm getting is to start by sending both governors out for bench testing and go from there. What does this group think?
Thanks for the help.
