I am looking at the pro's and con's of a '63 180 for potential purchase- one of the con's that was mentioned to me by my mechanic is the one piece nose bowl, which at a minimum would come off once a year at annual, and certainly as part of his pre-buy. The idea of removing and resintalling the prop this frequently troubles me... should it? The one thing I like about it at least is that the one piece is 'cleaner' than the split bowl. I know the 73 cherokee I rent has the split bowl, and it's been patched multiple times- still doesn't fit together well and looks like junk.
And what about toe brakes? My guess is that I wouldn't really miss them... but I was wondering what some of you's guys who are more familiar with the early cherokees think.
