Does anyone out there have pics of their ELT mount and location? I have a 140 and the last IA moved it inside the cabin and mounted between the rear seats (terrible location and prone to accidental activation). Reference AC91-44A dated 2/1/18 and it says ELT should not be mounted in baggage areas or places in cabin where it would be inadvertently activated and should be mounted as far aft as possible. I have referenced the Piper Service manual and parts manual. They both indicate that the Narco ELT 10 should be mounted in the empennage on a shelf. My '68 cherokee has no such shelf mounted anywhere in the tail section. It looks like a repair was done to the step and sheet metal surrounding it and I'm wondering if this is where the shelf should be. Pics anyone?
