Ladies and Gentlemen,
I need help with a problem I think. I have a PA28R-200 that shows 65-70 amps when loaded, but if I try to isolate each component, the draws seem normal. I raised the gear the other day and the 60A alt breaker blew. I do have an internal leak although small in my gear motor shuttle valve and my alternator and regulator are new. I have a high amp cranking battery in the plane as well. I need input as to what could be causing such a high amp draw since the alternator is only rated for 60A. Any help will be appreciated.
