I know this is probably a question that is bantered around on Mooney web boards. Also knowing winds aloft, GTOW etc. are a big factor. At the peril of what I am positing.

What kind of MPG is everyone getting out of their Cherokee's?

Here is a screen shot from a 300nm flight in my Cherokee 140 yesterday, showing 22.2 nmpg.

I haven't run the numbers, but I'm guessing I get 15 MPG no wind conditions.
