Anybody know what the proper gasket to be used on older PA28 main landing gear strut Schrader Valve? I have a copy of a 1971 parts manual which shows Piper part # 484 788 which is an "O" Ring (MS28775-012). I also have a copy of a 1980 parts manual which shows piper part # 462 024, which is an air valve gasket (aluminum) (AN901-5A). The Schrader air valve part number is the same in both manuals 453 124. The valves on this aircraft have a recess, which the "O" Ring would seat into. Has the "O" Ring been superceded by the Aluminum gasket part number ? Will it seal with the recess in the valve body ? Which should be used ? Thanks in advance.
