I had a cracked cylinder (discovered end of May), no problem, order new one or overhaul. Went the overhaul route, overhaul shop advised it was out of tolerances and could not be overhauled. Still, no problem, just more money. Ordered new cylinder last month - Aircraft Spruce now advises it SHOULD be in stock in September! September?? It's a cylinder fror a standard o360, not some exotic product! Yup, blame Covid, supply chain, China, the Democrats, the Republicans, my ex mother in law and anyone else I can think of. How on earth do we find ourselves unable to supply a (fairly) trivial component in under 4 months??? Grrrhhhhhhhh!
