Need some radio help again!

Let's start off with what I have..... one TKM Comm/Nav radio. One SPA400 intercom. That's it.... no audio panel. Went to the plane today, and checking radios during preflight, had terrible static both from overhead speaker and in headsets. Changed freqs, no help. Switched intercom off and on.... no help. Overhead speaker off and on.... no help. Had girlfriend take the handheld off about 100 yards or so.... she said I transmit just fine, crystal clear, no static.

I can hear the AWOS just barely over the static. Clicked the PTTs several times, just to see..... no help. Any ideas on what to do to isolate the problem?
