Okay, turbine guy getting back into GA so maybe this is a really basic question that is obvious to most. 1967 Piper Arrow with 180 HP IO-360. Just did a top overhaul. Broke in according to Lycoming and Superior documents. Initial break in flight seemed like temps dropped quickly and almost no oil consumption. Running 100 mineral oil. Attempted to lean a bit after about 7 hours and CHTs are quite high, over 400. Any chance that is due to the mineral oil? Might it be better after switching or have I screwed up the break in somehow?
