I am planning a trip to Orlando to visit some friends for several weeks around the March/April timeframe. I hear that is the highest hail risk time. I've called around a variety of airports looking to see if I can get temporary hangar space. Yeah, I know it is crazy out there for hangar waiting lists but a guy's gotta try. The closest I've come is a tiedown where the FBO will pull my plane into a hangar during thunderstorms if there is space. I'm grateful for that much help. Still, I'm thinking about just flying commercial and missing out on the Florida scenery. Am I being overly cautious about the hail?
