On the PA28-161 Warrior, the ring gear has markings on both sides that say TC and 25, however, the front and back don't match up.

I refer to the reverse side as viewing it from the pilot's seat. The front side would be standing in front of the plane looking towards the rear.

The Piper Warrior Service manual says to "rotate crankshaft until the top center (TC) on the starter gear and the crankshaft parting flange are aligned.

The issue is that there are two TC's stamped on the starter ring gear and they are in different positions....which position do you use...the one on front or the one on the back? The goal being...getting the prop installed.

The typical 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock setup does not apply to the 161 Warrior....the correct setup is 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock.
