In the last month, the JPI EDM-700 in my Lance will periodically reset. Sometimes it will last an hour or the whole flight, and other times it will reset maybe a dozen times in a couple of hours. I add fuel flow to it a couple of years ago, so it was sent to JPI and upgraded/refurb'd there then reinstalled. It seems as if it is loosing the power or ground connection, but don't know if that is internal (heat related, vibration related?) or external. I haven't pulled it out yet, but a visual inspection of the wiring (the best I can see) seems ok.

Anyone have experience on failure modes of the JPI? This may be the impetus to upgrade to a color 730 rather than fix the 700 if it is an internal problem. OTOH, if its just a loose ground, the upgrade may fail in the same way.
