I don't think buying a bigger plane is in the cards, with the price of birds continuing to go up and up. Not that being "stuck" with an airplane of any kind is a BAD thing lol.....but looks like I got what I got. Especially considering I'm also building an RV too lol.

That said, the only thing I really DON'T like about by 140/160, is the lack of a baggage door/baggage compartment. While down on HP for high/hot flying, I almost always fly with fuel at the tabs max, and two people max. Meaning, I can get by with careful planning and keeping my expectations low on climb performance!

I thought I remember someone (maybe Jim C?) posting about a mod to add the baggage door and baggage compartment to the 140 airframe? Anyway have a line on the STC, and parts needed? Can it work on a 73 140 E model? Could it be done using Piper drawings on a field approval? Thinking this would be a good airframe project to work on with my IA - would be a pretty reasonably priced upgrade to the plane, get me some more hours in my logbook, and maybe even add a little bit to the value of the plane.

Thanks in advance folks.......
