From the "Hartford Courant" - One of the centerpieces of the Republican plan is raising an estimated $800 million by selling the state-owned Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks and the under-used Brainard Field in Hartford off Interstate 91. As such, the state would form a quasi-public agency to oversee the airports like a port authority.
Our brillant state wants to sell off both airports to private owners, then set up a quasi-public agency to oversee them????? and this is going to somehow save the state money.
Sounds like just another "Board" with members that make $250,000+ a year, We already have a few of those "Boards" in Connecticut.
More than likely Brainard (HFD) would be plowed under for some overpriced condos or shopping malls with a nice view of the river.
