We replaced the front links bushings (thanks Jim), the fork assembly (slight play) and the shimmy dampener (new type)
No shimmy of course, and a much smoother taxiing. Looks the previous dampener was harder to move.
But, it might be serviceable. When you push it manually (off the plane now), there is the same resistance throughout the whole travel. So it is possible replacement was not necessary. Anyway I won't put it back, I like the smooth taxiing I have now with the new type.
Anybody would have a way to test it is still serviceable, or would be interesting in it ? This is the old type (PA28-180C) that you can't refill.
