I sent three of my four Bendix mags on my '73 Aztec out for their "500-hour inspections." Somehow I managed to keep all the rubber baby buggy bumpers (magneto drive bushings) from falling into the sump when I took them off, although after a frantic search I found the last one on the floor. (Whew!) Any ideas how to prevent that when I put them back on? Thick grease? Super glue? Enquiring minds want to know.

These don't seem hurt at all, although I'm sure they are as old as the airplane (47 years old). Any reason to replace them? If one or more go into the accessory drive case, any reason to disassemble the engine, or should I just let them be ground up? That is a serious question. My A&P has no answers, but I think most of his experience was in the classroom. Thanks.
