Hotel rentals during busy season when you can't reserve due to weather.

I'm looking to fly my wife to Destin or nearby on Floriday gulf coast this weekend. It's going to be busy and I know that there's a significant chance that weather could knock out my flight. How do you go about getting somewhere to stay when you're a VFR pilot flying into somewhere on a busy weekend? Thoughts greatly appreciated.
