What does one do when their hangared PA28-180 is adjacent to a hangar which was fully engulfed and in which 2 planes were completely destroyed? This was a 6 box type hangar structure, 3 on a side, and the one that burned was in the middle on my side, 2 other planes in adjacent hangars are clearly totaled, but there are a couple that are passing with smoke damage only. The plane in question has heat and smoke damage, melted fairing at vert stab, blistered antenna... rumored temp estimated 2000F at apex of structure. Concerned about heat damage that may not be visually obvious, in addition to everything else, paint, smell, of course, but mostly the stuff that can't be quantified diminished value, etc. Planes left on the fire side cannot be taken out of their hangars, waiting on structural guys to come in and evaluate, so there it sits as soot eats into everything.
