I have three GI 275s, two ADAHRS (one for ADI and one for HSI and ADI backup) plus a MFD. Before a flight Friday I got a little yellow battery symbol on all three units and the message "Battery Unavailable Capacity Test Required". My first thought was that I had inadvertently shut the batteries off while doing the monthly data updates since all three units had the same message. However, the battery page says all units are charged 100% with 75 minutes of reserve.

When I got home from the flight I looked in the GI 275 Pilots Guide and found this notation under Backup Battery: "The battery must be tested every 392 days using the instructions provided in the Installation Manual for legal flight under IFR"

The installation manual as I recall is close hold--I certainly don't have one--so I cannot research further. Has anyone gone down this road? It looks like a trip to the avionics shop may be necessary to clear this code. I am also uneasy from the wording of the warning that I don't have access to the backup battery should I have a failure of ship's power.
