I am looking to replace/ have my AP replace the green gear down indicator lights with Press-to-Test MS25041-3 Lights.
He is questioning the legality of that.
In my mind, it’s a minor modification, so under AC 23-27, I could replace a light with a like version, which has approval to be installed in an aircraft (Mil Spec) https://www.faa.gov/documentlibrary/media/advisory_circular/ac_23-27.pdf

Am I missing something? Can anyone share a logbook entry of their gear light upgrade?
