I haven't owned my plane long enough to have encountered an AD yet to deal with. That all may have potentially changed after yesterday so I'm trying to figure out how this process works. My fuel servo was overhauled probably 3 months ago that cost me $2,500. The AD, which I suspect applies to me (although have yet to confirm), would cost me probably another $800 minimum for them to remove and replace the diaphragm that was just overhauled. More directly, my questions are: 1) Does the manufacture of the parts typically have any warranty if I JUST had the work done? and 2) If they don't have a warranty on their parts that just had an AD assessed again them, is the owner typically 100% responsible for costs incurred?
