Makes it an $8500 GNS 430W. I think trade is your only option in this market. Makes that core worth $2k. Just stating facts here.
To tell the truth, if I were dead set on buying a used GPS, I'd prefer to buy a 430 non-WAAS for $4,000 and pay $4,350 for the WAAS upgrade than to pay $8,000–9,000 directly for a used 430W of dubious functionality. Doing the upgrade means I'd end up with a 430W that has just been factory upgraded and inspected by Garmin, and certified to work.

Then again, better yet to pay $10,000 for a brand-new GTN 650, or $11,000 for a brand-new IFD 440. The price difference between used and new is so small now, and the newer units have significant new features.

Used 430Ws top at $6500 and that's WITH a tray. $500 for an Avidyne tray kit and this is a $9k 430W.

Unless a person has no plans to WAAS, no plans to ADSB with it, it's pretty much worth trade value, if they will take it. As for value installed, a 430 without WAAS adds almost no airframe value. A 430W adds maybe $3k to hull value.

Sell it on eBay or to Wentworth.
