You should be careful accepting someone else's data card, I understand that small portions of memory on a card can go bad. You could end up with a bad one. Saw this on the red board.

I have NEVER had a card go bad during a data cycle. I have had cards go bad during programming. Not very often but it has happened.
I also NEVER had a pilot complain that the card he received went bad. I am happy to program a pilot's own card if that is more comfortable.
