For sale in San Tan Valley, AZ for $22,000:

This is a 1965 Piper Cherokee 160c single engine, 4 seat aircraft. This is a factory 160, which is built on the Cherokee 180 airframe (factory baggage door with 200 lb baggage area, fiberglass cowling), not a 140 with a 160hp STC.

Total time is 3,415 hours and climbing, engine time (O-320-D2A) is 2045 SMOH and climbing. Compressions were all in the 70s at last annual. The plane is flown 1-3 times per month, and has done 6 - 8 hour flying days this year. She's been from east Texas to Arizona, to San Diego and Vegas, and many points in Arizona this year. It's currently in annual (due January 2018), has a current transponder cert (due April of 2019), and is ready for its next mission as your personal trainer or time machine. All ADs are in compliance, and all inspections / oil changes are kept up with. We're moving up to something bigger for longer distance travel, or we'd keep her! Phoenix is hot, and we’re routinely near MGW. More HP is needed!

This Cherokee 160 features:
-Standard 6 instruments (including electric turn coordinator, Sigma Tek DG with heading bug)
-Dual King KX-155 Nav/Coms (#1 has glide slope, #2 indicator has a sticky meter needle)
-King KN62 DME
-King KT-76A transponder with mode C encoder (tested -perfect- at last cert)
-Terra audio panel
-PS Engineering 4-place intercom with auxiliary music input
-Wheel pants included (currently not installed, could use fiberglass repair)
-Whelen LED landing light
-Bogert battery cables
-SB 1006 compliance this year (clean spars, new fuel and vent lines, new structural stainless wing tank screws)
-New nose tire, tube, axle, and bushings this year
-New fuel drains this year
-New Precision vertical card compass this year
-Replaced electric turn coordinator this year
-New Sensenich prop bolt kit ($330) this year
-New Champion spark plugs (all 8) this year
-New Brown Aviation wing root seals this year
-New Lycoming oil dipstick (they're $185!) this year
-Type D oil hoses (2017 AD does not apply)
-Sound seal foam-backed floor matting in progress
-Good interior throughout
-Repainted in Mena, AR in 1997. Paint is a 6,with a strong white base layer and accents which could use freshening for best aesthetics
-Complete logs and FAA CD, current as of April 2017

This is a personal airplane, not a business asset or a flight school trainer. I continue to fly it (based at Pegasus Airpark in AZ), and have it listed only so I can find a buyer before I move on to my next plane. It's priced as a runout due to engine hours, it’s an O-320... fly the free hours before overhauling, and keep your $ in pocket for the next engine / overhaul you choose (not the one someone else chose 15 years ago on a plane that hardly flies).

The plane is owned free and clear, with no liens (title search was performed at my purchase). Bring me $ and fly her away so we can move on to our next adventure!
