I'm having lots of trouble with my oleo nose strut.

The problems started when the A&P rebuilt the strut during an inspection. It worked fine before that. I've since had it rebuilt 6 times, replaced all the seals, the snap ring, everything.

I can't seem to keep it from either extending all the way up, or bottoming out. My (new) A&P thinks that the strut could be leaking hydraulic fluid, perhaps from the valve stem where the fluid is added.

I'm at my wits end for fixing the issue. I can't fly the airplane in either condition, and I need to figure out what the issue is. Does anyone have suggestions (besides a match in the fuel tanks)?
