I go flying, get flight following, then I get an e-mail that Flightaware has spotted me in the air. Kind of cool. But, I land and go try to find my flight and its not there. I go to planefinder.net and see tons of airplanes in the air in real time. I can even pull up histories of many of them and watch the flight replayed. But, never my flights.

I am 10 days away from getting ADS-B installed. Will that cause me to start showing up on these sites?

If I search my tail number on flight aware, it says I landed 6 years ago. How exactly do these services work?
