Hi all,
Went out to the plane (PA28R-180) last weekend and discovered my nosewheel strut had gone nearly flat. About 1 finger of chrome showing when before I had about 3 or 4. I had it serviced and pumped up before the long trip from Oregon about a month ago.
I don't think the strut has gone flat for lack of use simply because I've been flying it about once per week which is about normal. So, I'm assuming for the moment that some seals may have deteriorated.

Just curious as to what I can expect the mechanic to tell me and relative costs? Complete teardown and rebuild? replace the seals only?
This is a new mechanic and am keen to be able to judge what he tells me as reasonable or unreasonable.
Thanks
