Finding OEM gauges

Good Day all,

I received a call today from my mechanic advising that he's looking to find a replacement oil temp gauge for a 1979 Piper Dakota (PA28-236).
I guess my unit was acting a bit weird during the annual, so he sent it out for overhaul, got it back from the rebuild facility with a note advising they're too "backed" up to service and they can't get parts.

An option is to do away with all the old OEM gauges and replace my JPI 830 with a JPI 900 but that seems a bit over-the-top at this point.

MX says he's got several "feelers" out there with everyone from salvage to new but is unable to locate.

Any ideas ?

Thanks much
Bob
