Good Morning Everyone. Looking to tap this wonderful resource of collective knowledge while my mechanic is away. I noticed the other day that there is a fuel drip, coming from an overflow line off the engine-driven fuel pump. There are 2 lines off the pump, one closer to the firewall and one closer to the engine that appear to be separated by a gasket. The drip is coming off the line closer to the head of the pump ( firewall side). It's just an occasional drip, drips while the engine is off for a bit, but also drips while the engine is running. It never seems to get more than a drip.
My assumption is that this is an indication that the diaphragm is going and fuel is getting on the other side where the spring is, and it's time to replace the pump.
Any experience with this would be greatly appreciated.
The plane is a 1966 Pa32-300, the engine has 400hrs on it and was overhauled 10 years ago. Fuel pressure is normal and no indication of any problem with the engine running.
I've owned the plane for less than a year. In the year I have had the plane I have put 100 hrs on it and it was down for 4 months for an avionics / interior overhaul, so I fly a fair bit.
Thanks everyone.
Kyle
