Dual G5 Configuration Question

Any of you smart guys know if you have to set both G5’s as a PFD to configure for the backup? The primary PFD G5 (that drives the GFC500) is a no brainer but the HSI has a different configuration menu. Will the primary G5 settings transfer to the BU G5 or do you have to set it as a PFD then set the configuration settings for a primary then swap back to HSI?
